Popular cars we can source

Not stock on a forecourt: these are models we can find for you at Japanese dealer auctions, shown with a typical spec and an estimated all-in price delivered to your driveway. We only list models where, on recent figures, our all-in estimate comes in below typical UK asking prices.

Estimates only — not a quote. Based on recent Japanese dealer auction results, exchange rates and typical import costs. Actual prices vary by car, grade, auction and timing. Savings are estimated against typical UK asking prices for similar cars, after our fee, and are not guaranteed.

Coggy Journal

For the love of the drive.

More than a destination. Cars chosen by people who care about them.

Japan looks after its cars. Strict inspections and short ownership cycles mean well-kept, well-specced examples come up at the dealer auctions every week, each with an independent auction sheet.

We read those sheets, ask the awkward questions and tell you plainly what we find before any bid is placed.

Auction grades

Read the grade like a pro.

Every car at a Japanese dealer auction is inspected and graded before the sale: an overall number for condition and a letter for the interior. We translate the sheet for you and explain the notes and the damage diagram in plain English.

How auction grades work

  • S / 6 As new Very recent, very low miles.
  • 5 Excellent Low miles, near-perfect.
  • 4.5 Very good Minimal marks for its age.
  • 4 Good Light, honest wear. A sweet spot.
  • 3.5 Fair Visible wear; read the sheet.
  • 3 Rough Needs work; often best avoided.
  • R / RA Repaired Past accident repair. Only with care.

Interior grade

  • A Like new
  • B Clean
  • C Some wear
